CYBER ATTACK CHAIN: THE GAME
Cyber Attack Chain is a fast paced, easy to learn card game designed to teach people the basics of a cyber-attack. Players will need to master the Cyber Attack Chain as they battle it out, hacker vs. hacker in the ultimate challenge!
Players will take turns launching cyber-attacks, disrupting their opponents, and chaining together real-world hacker tactics as described in the industry leading Mitre ATT&CK security framework.
Both players will need to chain together the perfect offensive and defensive security strategy to come out on top! Let's take a look at how to play Cyber Attack Chain: The Game!
HOW TO PLAY!
Key things to remember about Cyber Attack Chain: The Game
Learning how to play Cyber Attack Chain takes about 5 minutes and each game takes about 8 minutes to complete. Maximum cyber learnings, no technical jargon or complicated mechanics!
This is a two-player game where both players will draw cards from the same deck, meaning you'll only need a single deck of 45 cards to get started!
With multiple decks, you can host a multi-round tournament where the winners of each match battle it out until there is only one winner. For example, 8 decks will support a 16-player, 4 round tournament lasting between 30-45 minutes. As an educator, Cyber Attack Chain: The Game is a quick, easy and engaging way to gamify cyber awareness!
HOW TO USE
Every card in Cyber Attack Chain is a potential learning opportunity or conversation starter. Our cards have real world examples of Initial Access, Exfiltration and Impact hacker tactics, as well as security tools, safe staff behaviours and cyber incident responses.
An educator playing Cyber Attack Chain will be able to use these cards to explain concepts such as tailgating, malicious USB drives, phishing emails and much more as players use hacker cards to start their cyber-attack chain.
As a security team using Cyber Attack Chain for a team activity, our cards can prompt conversations about your organisation's security posture and its security controls. If someone was to play Exfiltration cards for example, this can start conversations about your organisations data loss protection tools, dark web monitoring, system enforced security policies, security alerting and much more.
These are two examples of how you could use Cyber Attack Chain, and our Educator Kit includes 10 amazing implementation ideas to get you started!
